The Gift of Encouragement

In November, I was asked to speak to 200 staff at a local social service agency. I had been asked to be the keynote speaker and then facilitate a 2.5 hour interactive workshop. But my topic was not to be the Beautiful Women Project, or my other art works.  So what on earth was I to talk about?  Me. You see, a quarter of a century ago I had been one of their clients and I was now considered a success story.

The Industries “Should” On Me

As many of you will know, I've been working on the Beautiful Women Project since 2003.  In that time I've used my art and my voice to publicly express my feelings about the creation of body image and the all important link to self-acceptance. Every day, we are bombarded with messages that tell us we need to alter ourselves physically, but based on what? I say it's time to celebrate natural beauty! Don't you?
